How to Change Your Baby's Diapers Like a Pro

When the time to change the diapers comes, many parents pull a long face. Looking at your tiny baby is a joy, however doing the dirty work is certainly not. However if you do it a couple of times, it will be quite easy, fast, and even fun. And definitely a moment shared with your baby that should be cherished.

The first thing you need to do is have all the diaper changing supplies around you so you don't have to leave the baby alone in the middle of changing to run to find those wipes or pads that you are missing. You should be using a changing table that is holding you baby safely and securely in it, without letting him or her roll off from it. Some of the items you will need to have in the vicinity of your baby are the diapers of course, wipes, lotions, creams and a burp cloth.

Next, lay the baby on the pad or table. Remove the clothes of the baby and the dirty diaper. Once these are safely removed, you need to clean the toddler with the wet wipes. Wipe the soiled area from front to back. Move the legs around, so you are sure you haven't missed a spot.

Once the child is clean and dry, lift his or her legs up so you can place the fresh diaper underneath. If you need to apply some creams or ointments, do so now before you close the diaper. Once the baby is well taken care of, pull the diaper front up and with one hand keep it in one place to not move away. Use your other hand to pull on a tape tab and bring it to the front.

Make sure that you haven't tied up the diaper too tight. You can easily test this by trying to fit two fingers in the front part of the diaper. Now dress the infant, who is all set for the next couple of hours, until the story will repeat itself.

Don't forget to use a good quality baby changing table or a good baby changing pad. Both can work well, as long as you know which you are more comfortable using.
